About Us

Hok-Si-La Municipal Park offers unique tent camping on Lake Pepin (Mississippi River). The 252-acre park is located on the MN side of Lake Pepin at almost its midpoint. Amenities include a dining hall (capacity 60-200), 34 regular campsites and 7-group sites (3-10 tents on group sites). Screened shelters, playground equipment and basketball court (2003), lake swimming (no lifeguard), boat ramps, nature trails, interpretive center, chapel, sand volleyball court, picnicking and x-country skiing.
Hok-Si-La is located 2 miles north of downtown Lake City, MN on Hwy 61/63. Lake City has a variety of shops and restaurants just minutes away. Forgot something - check the camp store or head into the local hardware or grocery store. The Park is located one hour southeast of Mpls./St. Paul (Hwy 61) and 35 minutes northeast of Rochester (Hwy 63).
The park dining hall was built for the Boy Scouts in 1956. It offers a spectacular view of Lake Pepin and the Wisconson Bluffs. Cook up a meal in the large kitchen or have the event catered. The kitchen area includes a 7' X 7' walk-in cooler. The dining hall works well for medium to large groups. Smaller groups of 30-40 can rent one of three screened shelters (electricity). Parking available for approximately 160 vehicles.
